Actress Gina Carano was launched "The Mandalorian" after she wrote a social media article comparing being a Republican to being a Jewish person during Nazi Germany.
The MMA veteran played Cara Dune on the hit Disney + show.
"Gina Carano is currently not employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans to be employed in the future," Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday.
“Nonetheless, his social media posts denigrating people on the basis of their cultural and religious identity are odious and unacceptable,” the statement continued.
Carano was facing backlash after Instagram's controversial post about Republicans and Jews, which prompted the hashtag #FireGinaCarano to become a social media trend.
A source told The Hollywood Reporter Lucasfilm wanted to fire Carano for a while.
"They had been looking for a reason to fire her for two months, and today it was the last straw," said the source.
